Branding your browser player

We’ve considerably simplified the branding requirements for the console to make it much quicker and easier to deploy. Important: If you’ve been advised to login to the Station Control Panel and use the console generator, please do so and you’ll be taken through the steps. This page isn’t for you but there’s a guide here to help you instead.

This guide is intended for stations who have been given the reference console.

Logo

The main station logo in your console can now be up to 220px wide. We recommend keeping some space between the logo and the transport controls so advise a width of 180px. The height is fixed at 50px. You may need to rework artwork to fit the space. You can set the logo in the style/theme.css file. As well as setting the logo, you need to also update the logo link to point to your website and there’s some alt text for accessibility required too. Consult the integration guide for further details.

Background

We still support background images (or solid colours if you prefer). Remember as ever to check for colour contrast issues. Also, when a user opens the console menu, the transport controls dock at the bottom of the player – and with it, your background image is offset (which means that although bottom docked, you see the top of the background image). So to the user, there isn’t a weird background image shift when the transport controls switch from top-docked to bottom-docked. Again you can set the background in the style/theme.css file

Theme

As with previous versions of the player, we have a dark and light theme which provides you with a different set of transport control colours, in order to still provide a good level of contrast against any background image. Note that you cannot and must not change the colours of the transport controls since these are a core part of Radioplayer. The integration guide which is shipped with the reference console describes how to change this.

Content (plugin) space

This remains exactly the same as the previous versions of the Radioplayer browser console and remains 360x517px. It should be possible to simply cut-and-paste your old content (plugin) space content into the new one here. Additionally, we support responsive content (plugin) spaces up to 720px wide.

Radioplayer Knowledge Base has written 40 articles

We’ve put together a handy guide to get you set up quickly in Radioplayer. As you know, the Radioplayer console is a browser-based application which is hosted by your station, so before you begin, you’ll need someone who knows their way around your website and has FTP access.
